A Jodhpur court headed by CJM Rural (Chief Judicial Magistrate RuralDev Kumar Khatri convicted actor Salman Khan in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case and awards five-year simple imprisonment (jail term)and imposes a fine of Rs 10,000. Other co-accused, Bollywood actors Saif Ali KhanTabuNeelam and Sonali Bendre have been acquitted in the blackbuck poaching case due to lack of strong evidence. The trial of the case has been in progress for the last 20 years.

Salman’s lawyers Hastimal Saraswat and others plan to move the Sessions court as well as the Rajasthan High Court for bail. If the bail application is not heard today, the actor will have to spend the night in Central jail today.
