All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) announces a new policy on internship. According to AICTE New policy, Engineering Students will have to undertake a mandatory internship for a stipulated period to earn the required Activity Points, as reported by The New Indian Express. AICTE new policy report on internship says that Students can also earn credits for entrepreneurial activity/project work/seminar and inter/intra-institutional training.
AICTE has finalised its policy on the internship for engineering students, mandating 600-700 hours for BE/BTech and 450-500 hours for diploma courses. Those students enrolled in BE/B Tech/Diploma courses will have to complete above hours of internship. The technical education regulator of India, AICTE has also launched a separate website (www.aicteinternships.in) to help students get internships.
