GATE 2019 Exam will be held online on February 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2019 for 24 papers by IIT Madras. Metallurgical Engineering is one of the relatively preferred branches after ME, CSE, ECE, EE, CE and IN. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT – Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on the rotational basis. GATE is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. for admissions to Postgraduate Programmes (ME, M.Tech, MS, Direct PhD) in institutes like IITs and IISc and other with financial assistance offered by MHRD.
GATE scores are also used by the Public Sector Units (PSUs) for recruiting individuals for various prestigious government jobs with attractive remuneration.
